Pitching for Success

The Club’s Management Committee would like to thank all those members and supporters who have already made a donation towards a new/second pitch at Culford School as part of the Club’s drive to maintain its development and sustainability. You can continue to donate either via www.localgiving.com or by sending cash/cheques (made out to Bury St Edmunds Hockey Club) to the Treasurer.

Loan Note Update

Prospectuses inviting those who initially registered their interest in the Loan Note Scheme have now been issued and their applications are expected back before 31 July.

We can issue more, so if you want to participate in the scheme, simply register at LNS@bsehockeyclub.co.uk and we will be in touch.

There is not long to go so if you are thinking about it, you could talk to someone who has already joined in.

Peter Watson (Club member & Vice President) says “It’s a real opportunity to invest in the Club’s future. The prospectus explains all the details and it’s a simple form. I am delighted to be able to help the club finally realise its dream of a new home and great new facilities”

To meet the deadline your application form needs to be posted to reach David Johnson, (Club President and Director EASCL) in by Noon 31st   July. We even provide the envelope!

New pitch Update - Fundraising for the new pitch and our move to Culford continues in earnest!

June 13th 2014

A bid for £75,000 from Sport England's Inspired Facilities Fund was submitted last week with a decision due in September. A bid for £75,000 from The National Hockey Foundation will be submitted next week with a decision due at their 23rd July Trustee Meeting. A reduced bid to England Hockey will be made, subject to their 17th July Panel Meeting approving our move to full application. Assuming this, the bid will be made in August for decision in September. If these three bids are successful, then together with the Club's fundraising efforts  and a successful Loan Note Scheme, then we are well on the way to achieving the project.

Loan Note Scheme - Following the initial well supported registration of interest for loans by the end of April, the Development Committee and Company Directors have agreed to go to the next stage. Over 50 Prospectuses (invitations to participate in the scheme) are to be issued by the end of June and applications are due in during July.

If you haven't previously registered your interest in the scheme and still want to, simply email lns@bsehockeyclub.co.uk . There are a limited number of places left so don't miss this opportunity to invest in the club's future.
